26th July 2008 - Iggy Cribbin Cup SAFC lost out 3-1 to a strong Celbridge Town in the 1st Iggy Cribbin Cup. Alan Fox had equalised for the home side in the 1st half but 2 late goals sealed it for the vistors. 26th July 2008 - Legends Match Dorans Destroyers came out 6-5 winners against Tommys Terriers in the legends match. 9th Sep 2007 - 2nd Win Straffans great start to the season contuinued with a 4-0 away win over Forest Utd. Paulo Krivokonev, Alan Fox and Ian Hennessy were the 1st half goal scorers in a convincing display. Kevin Fox's late freekick was the icing on the cake. 26th Aug 2007 - 1st League Win Straffan started the league campaign with a deserved 5-0 home win against Liffey Celtic. Michael Murphy netted his 1st hatrick for the club in a convincing display by Straffan 10 dec. - game off for the second week in a row our game has been called off because of flooding at lodgepark. lets hope for an improvement in conditions for next week!! 10 dec. - player profile vice captain JOHN BRENNAN will be featured in a player profile soon on this site. watch this space! 3 dec.06 - game cancelled straffans game against BBC UTD. was posponed today due to the bad weather conditions at lodge park 26 nov. - CUP VICTORY Straffan had a great win in round 3 of the Lumsden cup against premier side Kingstown. Rob Stanley opened the scoring after 20 min. Shane mac namara added a second before half time. kingstown pulled one back after sustained pressure at the start of the second half but another goal from shane mac namara made the game safe for the home team. 8 Oct - Game Abandoned Straffans home game this week was abandoned when the referee called a halt to the action when Newbridge Rovers had 3 players red carded 10 min. into the second half. Straffan were leading 1 - nil at the time. 23rd September 2006 - Ryder Cup Break Training will resume Tuesday 12th September after the Ryder Cup break |
